People with dementia may not be able to think well enough to do routine or day-to-day activities, such as eating or getting dressed. They may lose their ability to carry on a conversation or even respond to people or surroundings. They may get easily confused and muddled. Their personalities may change. They may also find it difficult to solve problems or control their emotions. While memory loss may start out mild in initial stages, the disease deteriorates over time.
